Who they are

The RASAs serve as partners and resources to faculty search committees by providing guidance regarding evidence-based practices in recruiting and hiring talented faculty. RASAs serve on committees outside of their department/unit in an effort to provide a neutral perspective and promote best practices in faculty search processes. Their primary role is to provide an equity lens throughout the recruitment and search process.

Training they have received

RASAs are available to serve on faculty and administrator/leadership search committees. Each RASA has undergone a 16-hour training and is certified to serve in this role. The expertise they gained in this extensive training makes them a valuable resource for faculty recruitment and search processes across scholarly fields and disciplines.

We highly encourage each faculty search committee to request the support of a RASA. The preference is to integrate the RASA from the beginning of the search process, preferably before the job posting is written. To request a RASA for your search committee, please fill out this RASA Request Form. The form will ask you to recommend 2-3 RASAs who would make a strong partner in the recruitment and search process for your department/unit. Providing various options will allow us to avoid any conflicts of interest, as well as those related to scheduling.

How to Become a RASA

If you are interested in becoming a RASA, we offer training periodically. Please check back again for future opportunities.
