This fall, we welcome the Class of 2027, WashU’s most diverse incoming undergraduate class for the second year in a row. You can read more about this talented group of young scholars here.
I would like to thank the Faculty Affairs and Diversity team for their hard work over the summer to plan exciting programming and events for Danforth Campus faculty during the 2023-24 academic year. We are offering new opportunities for professional and leadership development for Danforth faculty on all tracks and at all ranks. We have also launched a new webpage with resources for Teaching, Research, and Practice Faculty. I hope you will join us virtually or in person for enriching opportunities focused on faculty mentorship, including our first Faculty Mentoring Summit this October.
I also encourage faculty, as well as graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, to claim their free individual membership to the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) through WashU’s institutional membership. NCFDD is an independent organization that is nationally recognized for its provision of online research productivity, academic mentoring, and career development resources. Over 1,000 members of the WashU community have joined NCFDD to date.
Washington University is also now a member of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS), supporting a global network of like-minded women and allies committed to advancing women in science, technology, engineering, and math. As an Institutional Member, WashU is pleased to offer free membership to all students, faculty, staff, postdocs, and trainees.
Best wishes,
Kia
